Preparation and transportation of raised floor systems

For 12 years, we have not only taken a strong position in this field, created our own trademark – ”
INTERFLOOR”, but also continuously improve: production is constantly upgraded, production
machines are made to order, taking into account our needs, there are new types of products that
have no analogues in the Russian market.

Currently, raised floor systems are in high demand, are one of the necessary conditions for the
assignment of the office status “Class A” and are used in 80% of office space.
The advantages of the raised floor can be talked about for a long time, but this information is
enough on the Internet. We have prepared for You a series of articles with a detailed description of
the entire process of work how to equip the raised floor system: from the organization of the
construction process to the stage of acceptance.
Raised floors of INTERFLOOR are transported by any type of transport in covered vehicles in
accordance with the rules of transportation of goods on this type of transport. The panels are
transported in a horizontal position. Each panel is packed in a corrugated box, in an amount of 25
pcs., and stored on a pallet in a total of 50 pcs. Boxes are pulled by ribbons for immobility on the
pallet and for the safety of the plates during transportation. The boxes shall not be subjected to
mechanical shock or contamination during transport. Supports are packed in corrugated cardboard
boxes or bags. Precautions should be taken when unloading raised floors and transporting them
on the construction site, as the weight of the pallet with panels NETTO 1000 kg. during unloading,
damage to the material should be avoided. To equalize the humidity and temperature
characteristics after transportation and storage, it is preferable to leave the plates in the mounted
room for 24 hours before installation. The components of the raised floor should not be stored on
the construction site, in a way that may cause excess of the maximum permissible loads on the
floor of the building. Facilities shall be provided for free storage of raised floor components for the

period of its installation. Rooms must be dry, waterproof and well ventilated. The components of
the raised floor should be stored at a small distance from the installation site of the raised floor in
rooms with controlled temperature and humidity. The ambient temperature should be between 5°
and 25 °C, the relative humidity between 40 % and 75 %. In the room where the installation is
taking place, wet work must be completely finished. The main preparatory work is completed, the
material is delivered to the construction site. In the next article we will start the installation!

ORGANIZATION AND TECHNOLOGY OF CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

Preparatory work
The following works must be performed prior to installation of the INTERFLOOR raised floor
systems:

  •  complete any installation work in the interfield space;
  •  check the location of piping and ventilation shafts. They should depart from a wall not less
    than on 10 sm that there was enough place for installation of elements of system of a
    raised floor;
  •  to ensure the supply of electricity;
  •  check the floor for compliance with the requirements of the flatness standards provided for
    by DIN 18202: 2005-1054. “Flatness-permissible deviations” and the requirement of the
    contract (if any).
  •  floor should be free from debris and should be cleaned out with a vacuum cleaner, i.e., you
    should make the de-dusting of the floor surface.
  •  after cleaning the floor surface from dust, it is recommended to treat it with dust-binding
    agents, a primer of deep penetration. This treatment is especially important if the space
    between the floor surface and the RF panels is to be used as an air duct (air distribution
    system);
  •  to perform the layout of the grid floor. The installer must mark the line of the reference
    system of the raised floor surface the subfloor, the installation location of the pedestals in a
    grid;

Contractors providing services and technical installation of adjacent structures should take into
account this marking so that neither pipes nor channels, etc. do not fall into the installation of
pedestals.

  •  on the perimeter of the room to mount a corner size 40×40 mm for the installation of raised
    floor plates in places where it is impossible to install pedestals.
  •  Fixing the corner to the wall to carry out using dowel-anchor 8×80 mm.
  •  provide free passages and passages for forklifts and other vehicles to the installation site
    of the raised floor, performing unloading and moving materials;
  •  provide unhindered access to the premises and elevators and free access for forklifts;
  •  to the premises in which the installation of raised floors will be carried out, a free passage
    must be provided for the transportation of panels on wheeled trolleys.
